Frost/Nixon

While I was watching Ron Howard's new film Frost/Nixon, all I could think was that I wish I were watching the actual 1977 interview which the movie is based on. Frank Langella and Michael Sheen's performances are stellar, but watching the real David Frost and the real Richard Nixon verbally spar is far more interesting (to me).

This interview encouraged me to revisit the interview with Frank Langella originally broadcast November 21, 2007. The section that interested me most was:

Bob Edwards: (when discussing the role of Dracula) There's another role, like Nixon, that you...you know...have to avoid doing like a cartoon.

Frank Langella: Yes, well, I'll never be asked to play Nixon again, and that's...that's a one-time-only, and I'm happy about that.

Like Sean Connery said, "Never say never..."
