Each week Bob is joined by Dan Gediman, the Executive Director of This I Believe, Inc. to discuss one of the original essays from the 1950s radio series. This week’s featured essay is by actor and director John Cromwell. He directed more than 50 films including Of Human Bondage, The Prisoner of Zenda, Dead Reckoning, and Algiers which was Hedy Lamar’s first film. Cromwell wrote his essay in the form of a letter full of advice to his older son Jonathan. Click here to read a transcript and hear the audio of his “This I Believe” essay. In this segment, Bob also talks with Cromwell’s younger son, actor James Cromwell, who reacts to hearing his father’s essay for the very first time.
