Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer

Justice Breyer’s Supreme Court portrait
Stephen Breyer was one of the nation’s leading legal scholars and voices on constitutional law when he became an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1994. His most recent book is Making Our Democracy Work: A Judge’s View.  Breyer is one of the few Justices who enjoys taking citizens behind the scenes of the high court. He joins Bob to examine the American public’s relationship with Supreme Court decisions, addressing how the Court can maintain the public’s faith even in the face of unpopular rulings.  Breyer was a law professor and lecturer at Harvard Law School and his professorial side comes out as he teaches Bob about the Constitution and the history of the Supreme Court. Making Our Democracy Work is now out in paperback. He has also written Breaking the Vicious Circle and Active Liberty.
