Each week, we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay - this week by Colette Decker. As one of ten children on the farm, Decker and her family had less than others. But she learned growing up that hunger isn’t always about a lack of food, it can also be a longing for a better life. She and her husband now work together in the company they co-own, and she helps her daughter at the deli and bakery they run together in Laurel, Montana. Decker is active in her community, loves traveling and spends any extra time in the great outdoors of Montana and with her granddaughters. The small business owner believes that we can reach our dreams by embracing our hungers with creativity and passion.
