Each week, we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay - this time from Matt Rizzotti. He’s a sophomore studying economics and marketing at Pennsylvania State University’s Schreyer Honors College. Rizzotti also works up to 25 hours a week as an emergency medical technician. Few of us regularly face the kind of life-and-death situations that Rizzotti does as a part-time EMT. Yet he’s grateful the job allows him to help others, and that it has taught him to connect more deeply with those he loves. After graduation, Rizzotti hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career as a trauma surgeon or emergency room physician.
